Matthew and Ethan

We had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving as our eldest son Matthew and his family were able to come for a visit. They don't get to come very often so was very nice to see them.

Our 4th son Arvon and his family were here too, as well as our daughter Ivy and her 2 girls. It was a good day for all.

The kids had a lot of fun playing in the back yard in the leaves.

When I left for work today I saw a man pulling a handcart about 1 mile out of Morrill. I didn't think much about it until Dad called and said that we had visitors in our back yard. Lyn Cleland and his family are walking from Iowa to Salt Lake City pulling his handcart all of the way. Aug 13, 2009 they spent the night in 2 tents in our back yard. They will be heading for Torrington tomorrow.

Celesta Mary Mattice Samson was born 2 March 1902 and passed away 12 June 2009 at the age of 107 years. Celesta and I are 4th cousins. She was also the wife of mt 1st cousin 1 time removed. The Samson line intertwines in the genealogy in several places.

This photo is one I took when we met Dad's 3rd cousin in Scottsbluff a week or two ago. We talked about genealogy etc. and then went out to lunch. It was fun and I think we helped her with some of the information we had. She gave us some pictures so all in all it was a very productive meeting.

I saw these cute little squirrels in our feeder yesterday. They must have been really hungry as they were really gobbling down the food.
We had blizzard conditions here over the weekend. Visibility was really bad, only about half a block or less at times. It is almost unbelievable that the weather can change so much in such a short time. It was about 70 degrees on Friday, and Saturday was a blizzard. Monday was much warmer and melting , now the snow is only where the drifts were.
That is Nebraska weather for you!
